Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its Sahitya Chavadi programme, Kalasuruchi, Mysuru, has organised a talk on ‘Kannada Kirutereya Dharavayigalu mattu Sahityika Moulyagalu’ by writer Kusuma Ayarahalli at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempunagar on Feb. 22 at 10.30 am.
Profile: Kusuma, hailing from Ayarahalli village near Mysuru, has actively participated in many Movements during her student days. After completing her MA degree in Kannada and Journalism, she began her work in media by being active in ‘Akashvani.’ For decades, she worked as a dialogue and script writer for famous directors like Girish Kasaravalli and T.N. Seetharam.
She has a wide experience including working for News Media. Her debut book was a short story collection called ‘Yoltin keli.’ She later went on to write a novel called ‘Daari’ and has been the recipient of Dr. Ha. Ma. Nayak Award and Kittur Rani Chennamma Award.
She is now active in agricultural work at Ayarahalli and is also working for ‘Parisara Balaga,’ a team which takes up lake restoration and other environment-friendly tasks.
