‘Kalemane Kalashree’ Awards to be presented tomorrow

Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, has organised the 53rd International Nirantara Kalemane Festival at its Kalemane Sabhaangana in Hebbal 2nd Stage on Feb. 23 at 4 pm. Also, 3rd Annual Sri Purandara Tyagaraja Sangeeta Mahotsava will be held tomorrow.

On this occasion, four distinguished artistes who have made significant contributions to the field of music will be honoured with ‘Kalemane Kalashree’ Award-2025.

Musicologist Vid. V. Nanjundaswamy and retd. Tahsildar Dr. V. Ranganath will be the chief guests. ‘Kalemane Kalashree’ Award will be presented to Vid. K.S. Mohan Kumar, Dr. M.V. Srinivas Murthy, Vid. M.K. Shankar and Vid. Madurai R. Sankar Prasad.

After the felicitation, a group rendition of Sri Tyagaraja’s and Sri Purandara Dasa’s Pancharatna Kritis and devotional compositions will be performed by renowned music Gurus and their disciples.
