Kanakagiri Seer inaugurates free prosthetic limb distribution camp

Mysore/Mysuru: A free modular artificial limbs distribution camp for the differently-abled was held recently at Nataraja Kalyana Mandir, Shankar Mutt Road, Mysuru.

The camp was jointly conducted by Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Pvt. Ltd., Aashray Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, Lions International District 317 G and Jain Milan Charitable Trust.

The camp was inaugurated by Swasti Sri Bhuvankeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Kanakagiri, who praised the collective efforts of Jain Milan Charitable Trust, Lions Clubs and all donors for coming together to make the programme a success.

In his address, the Swamiji emphasised that selfless service to the disabled, helpless, needy and poor is true devotion and worship of God, as a part of the Divine resides within every human being.

He stated that this philosophy inspires compassion, kindness and spiritual growth through service to humanity, ultimately strengthening society and the nation.

Ln. K.L. Rajashekara, District Governor, Lions International District 317 G, highlighted that artificial limb services have been carried out for decades by the Lions Club of Mysore East, with dedicated support from the Bhansali family.

MLC C.N. Manjegowda, in his address, emphasised the importance of mobility, stating that the loss of a limb causes not only physical pain but also severely affects a person’s independence and confidence.

Special appreciation was extended to Ln. Hemant Kumar Bhansali, District Special Secretary – Service and Ln. Mahaveer Chand Bhansali, District Chairman – Artificial Limb, for their dedicated service.

MLA T.S. Srivatsa lauded the Jain community for its continued commitment to nurturing the well-being of all living beings. Ex-MLA M.K. Somashekar was present on the occasion.

The Service team included Ln. M. G. Veerash, President, Ln. D. Vijayalakshmi, Secretary, Vikas Jain, Treasurer and Vinod Tiwari, Vice-President, Lions Club of Mysore East; Vinod Bakliwal, Chairman, Jain Milan Charitable Trust; Madanlal Maru, President, Jain Milan Palace City; Ln. Pramila, President, Ln. Golden Suresh, Lions Club of Mysore Golden City; Ln. Mahadevaswamy, District Zone Chairman, along with several dignitaries from the Lions District and dedicated volunteers.
