Mysore/Mysuru: Ravindra Hegde, Principal District and Sessions Court Judge, released the books ‘Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhite-2023’, ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhite-2023’ and ‘Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyama-2023,’ at the premises of Mysore Bar Association, Law Courts Complex, in city recently.
Retired DGP Dr. D.V. Guruprasad is the author of the book ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhite-2023’, while advocate and notary B.S. Prashanth has authored the remaining two books, all related to criminal laws, that were released at a programme organised jointly by Mysore Bar Association and Lawyers Law Book, Bengaluru.
Addressing the gathering, Judge Hegde said that the sections related to new laws have been explained in a simple and meaningful manner in the books, that can be easily understood by advocates, law students and the public.
“With the new laws coming into effect from July 1, 2024, the modifications made in the archaic laws, meaning and the procedures to be followed are succinctly explained in these books. The advocates, judges, law students, Police officers and the public should study and make judicious use of them,” advised Judge Hegde.
Author and DGP Dr. Guruprasad said that the contents of the book are inspired by the experiences he had while serving the Police Department.
“The IPC Sections have been replaced and re-arranged and the omitted contents have been included along with relevant information, which can be effectively used in solving the cases, so that even our efforts will prove worthy,” said Dr. Guruprasad.
Author and advocate B.S. Prashanth, Hon. Editor of Law Guide Kannada Monthly H.N. Venkatesh and Mysore Bar Association President S. Lokesh also shared their views.
Mysore Bar Association Secretary A.G. Sudheer, Vice-President M.V. Chandrashekar, Joint Secretary K.R. Charanraj, B.V. Vinod, Treasurer H.B. Bharath and Members of Executive Committee and others were present on the occasion.
