Mysuru: A commemorative book titled ‘Kannada Paricharaka – Pandit Pa. Nagarajaiah Samsmarana Samputa,’ was unveiled by noted littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK), at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI), auditorium in the city recently.
The book published under the editorial supervision of senior journalist N. Mahaveer Prasad was launched under the aegis of Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota and Samvahana Publications.
In his address, CPK said, Pt. Nagarajaiah symbolised the phrase ‘humility comes from education and scholarly qualities.’ A reputed Jain scholar that he was, the aforementioned book gives a peek into his humble qualities.
“While some wipe out the good deeds of their parents, some rejuvenate them. By bringing out the book in memory of his father, Mahaveer Prasad has returned what he owed to his father,” said CPK, who recalled how Pt. Nagarajaiah had helped him in bringing out a comprehensive volume on Jainism.
Speaking about the book, scholar Dr. K. Anantharamu lauded Mahaveer Prasad for collecting 42 articles in producing a detailed account, holding mirror to the versatile talent of his father Nagarajaiah.
Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar, JSS Mahavidyapeetha College Education Division Director Prof. Morabada Mallikarjun, Digambar Jain Samaj President M.R. Suneel Kumar, Padmashri Mahila Samaj President Nandini Sanjay, writer N. Mahaveer Prasad and Samvahana Prakashana’s D.N. Lokappa were present.
