Mysuru: Alleging total neglect of Kannada in the UGC’s Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) degree curriculum, the Kannada Professors Association will stage a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall here on July 2.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Association Convenor Dr. M. Ramakrishna said that the UGC (University Grants Commission) has failed to grant the same status to Kannada in Degree curriculum as it had done in the case of other Indian languages such as Tamil and Telugu.

As such, the Association will stage a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall on July 2, he said and added that all Kannada teachers have been appealed to take part in the demonstration.
Association office-bearers Dr. H.R. Ramesh, Dr. Nandeesh Hanche, Prof. G.B. Veerappa and others were present during the press meet.
