Kannada version of Dr. Kalam’s ‘Wings of Fire’ hits 19th reprint

Mysore/Mysuru: The Kannada translation of the autobiography of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has entered its 19th reprint, marking a milestone in the translation history of English books into Kannada.

The original English autobiography, ‘Wings of Fire,’ was translated into 22 languages worldwide. Its Kannada version, ‘Agniya Rekkegalu,’ was translated by Mysuru-based K. Jayaprakash Rao, former Chief Public Relations Officer of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The latest reprint includes around 50 photographs and additional chapters, reflecting on Kalam’s days at Rashtrapati Bhavan, his leadership initiatives for youth and events until his passing.

The Kannada edition, published by Vasan Publishers, has also been prescribed as a textbook for degree students in some colleges.
