Mysuru: Members of District Kannada Vigilance Committee inspected the office of the Joint Director, Department of Social Welfare in city yesterday to ascertain the usage of Kannada in administration.

The Committee was led by the Secretary and Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa and members S.R. Sudarshan, M.B. Vishwanath, Maddikere Gopal, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna and Prabhamani.

The Committee expressed happiness that 99% of the administration was being done in Kannada including the seals, files and correspondence. However, they observed that a few letters from the Head office in Bengaluru were received in English. The Committee decided to send a notice to Bengaluru office in the context of usage of Kannada.

Social Welfare Joint Director Bindiya and officer Srinivasaprasad were present.
