Mysore/Mysuru: Marking the victory of  the 1999 Kargil war, the Mysuru District Unit of All Karnataka Ex-Servicemen Association, will be taking out a bike rally in city tomorrow (July 26).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Association President K.P. Diwakar said that the bike rally would commence from Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Hotel Metropole Circle) on JLB Road at 10 am tomorrow. The rally will pass through Railway Station Circle (Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Circle), Govt. Ayurveda College Circle, Subhas Chandra Bose Circle, Moulana Abul Kalam Circle, T.N. Narasimhamurthy Circle, Mysuru-Bengaluru Road, Fountain Circle, Dr. Ambedkar Circle, ABBA Road, Venkatalingaiah Circle, Theobald Road, Hemachandra Circle, Hardinge Circle, B.N. Road, Gun House Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, Ramaswamy Circle, JLB Road and MUDA Junction, before culminating at Jaganmohan Palace, where ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ celebration has been organised in association with Rotary Club of Mysore Heritage, he said. More than 500 bikers will take part.

Continuing, Diwakar said MLAs K. Harishgowda and T.S. Srivatsa, MLC C.N. Manjegowda, former MLA M.K. Somashekar, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev and others will take part in the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration at Jaganmohan Palace.

Association General Secretary S. Nataraju, Vice-President Neelakantakumar Shetty and Rotary Club of Mysore Heritage President M.S. Raju were present at the press meet.

At St. Philomena’s College

St. Philomena’s College along with NCC (Naval and Artillery) Units and IQAC have jointly organised Kargil Vijay Diwas at 10.30 am in College premises.

Naval Veterans Association

As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Naval Veterans Association will be felicitating Surendra Singh, CPO (Tel) at No.3 NCC Naval Unit, Manasagangothri, at a function to be held at Naval Veterans Association Office at 11 am tomorrow.

During his tenure of 26 months, he has trained more than 500 NCC Naval cadets and the Mysore Naval NCC unit has been awarded the Best NCC Unit among all NCC Units in Karnataka.

As a chief instructor, Surendra Singh was instrumental in organising various naval camps which helped candidates develop their leadership qualities and getting exposure in their                                            academic career.

Surendra Singh has also served onboard INS Sagardhwani, INS Nipat and INS Shivalik and other units.
