Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised a Karnatak and Hindustani vocal concert on Dec. 15 and 16 at its premises on JLB Road, Mysuru.
On 15th (Sunday) at 5.30 pm, B.M. Subbanna Memorial concert sponsored by Bellur Foundation will be a Karnatak Vocal concert by Vivek Moozhikkulam. He will be accompanied on violin by B.K. Raghu while C. Cheluvaraju on mridanga and G.S. Ramanujan on ghata.
Profile: Vivek Moozhikkulam, hailing from Kerala, started learning under A.D. Reju Narayanan and V.R. Dileep Kumar. Now he is under C.R. Vaidyanathan of Chennai, who is the senior disciple of Padma Bhushan P.S. Narayanaswami.
He has completed B.A, M.A Music and M.Phil in Music from Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Kalady. He is a regular performer in the main circuit all over the country and has performed in all major Sabhas. He has also entered the movie land by singing a song for the movie “Thrishivaperoor Cliptam.”
An “A” Grade artiste from AIR Thrissur, he has won laurels like Chembai Puraskaram from Kerala Government in 2017, Best Vocalist Award from Music Academy Chennai – 2018 and M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship from Shanmukhananda Sabha Mumbai to name a few.
On 16th (Monday) at 6 pm, Raghunandan Bhat will give a Hindustani vocal concert supported by Bhimashankar Bidanur on tabla and Sriram Bhat on harmonium for D.V.S. Acharya memorial concert sponsored by Leela Acharya.
Profile: Raghunandan is a well-known Hindustani vocalist. Born in 1985, he has a Master’s degree in Microbiology. His musical journey started under Ananth Bhagawath as the first Guru and later under Pt. Sripad Hegde. His music is blended with both Kirana and Gwalior Gharana. Apart from classical singing, he is well-known in the field of Light Music. A graded artiste in AIR, Raghunandan had received Nadakishora title in 2012 from Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha.
