Karnatak classical vocal concert

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak classical vocal concert by Vidu. M.R. Sudha at 6 pm on Monday (Dec. 29) at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Ganabharathi, Kuvempunagar.

She will be accompanied by Vid. Venkatesha Josyer on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.

Artiste’s Profile: Vidu. Sudha was born into a family of rich musical lineage. Her father Vid. M.J. Ramaswamy Iyengar was a vainika who was the younger brother of veena artiste and guru, Vid. M.J. Srinivasa Iyengar.

She had her higher training in music from Vidu. Gowri Kuppuswamy, who was a prominent disciple of Vidu. M.L. Vasanthakumari and a reputed performer and guru and former Principal of University of Mysore Fine Arts College, Mysuru.

Sudha is a rank holder in her Vidwat exam and is an Akashvani artiste. She has widely performed in many prestigious platforms and earned the appreciation of rasikas for her serene music, mellifluous voice and carrying forward the bani of maestros GNB and T. Kalyanaraman. Many music critics have reviewed her concerts in high esteem.
