Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru, has organised Karnatak Classical Music in memory of Smt. S.R. Kumuda at Alwar Kala Bhavana in Gokulam 3rd Stage on Dec. 21 at 6 pm. The event, sponsored by S.R. Kumuda Memorial Trust, will be inaugurated by Trust President Nandakumar.
Dr. M.G. Veena will present vocal concert on the occasion, accompanied by Dr. M.B. Narahari on violin, Vid. P.S. Sridhar on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.
Dr. Veena, a doctor by profession and passionate Karnatak musician, began her training under late Vidu. M.S. Jayamma and later with late Vid. A.V. Prakash. Currently guided by Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, she has excelled in Karnataka Senior Secondary Board Music Exams with distinction and has won National-level prizes representing University of Mysore. Known for her captivating performances in Sabhas across Mysuru, Dr. Veena skilfully balances her medical career with her devotion to music, specialising in Karnatak vocal and veena.
On Dec. 22 at 6.30 pm, Sri Krishna Ganasabha has organised a Yakshagana Programme in memory of Byadarahalli B. Subbaraje Urs at Alwar Kala Bhavana. It is a ‘Puduvattu’ programme instituted by B.S. Sridhar Raje Urs.
Yakshagana ‘Bhargava Vijaya’ will be presented by Karavali Yakshagana Kendra, Mysuru. Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy of Mangalore Ganesh Beedi Works, Mysuru, will be the chief guest.
