Karnatak Vocal Concert at Nadabrahma

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised a Karnatak vocal concert by S. Sakethraman at the Sabha premises on JLB Road in city on Feb.15 at 6 pm. The event is organised as part of Shanta Narasimham Memorial concert sponsored by Seetha Vatsalchari.

Sakethraman will be accompanied by Trivandrum Sampath on violin and K.U. Jayachandra Rao on mridanga. 

Artiste’s  Profile: Saketharaman is one of the top performing musicians of Karnatak music in India. He is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Lalgudi Jayaraman. Saketharaman started learning Karnatak vocal from late Srirangam Krishnamurthy Rao at the age of 4. Subsequently he learnt under late Savitri Satyamurthy. He learnt several Padams and Javalis from Geetha Raja. He is currently learning rare kirthanas of Trinity and other yesteryear composers from Vid. Nagai Muralidharan.  Saketharaman’s mother, Vijaya Santhanam, is a post-graduate in Chemistry. His father, Santhanam, is a Chartered Accountant. His elder sister, Vishaka Hari, is a well-known Harikatha exponent. His wife, Vidhya, is a doctor. The couple have a daughter and a son.  

A Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs, dealing with investment banking, Saketharaman is also an A-Grade AIR artiste. He has composed more than 100 Pallavis in rare Thalas which are featured regularly in his concerts. He has been recognised with very prestigious awards from high profile Sabhas. He also participated in the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi during his school years.
