Karnatak vocal concert tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: RAAGA Music Academy, Mysuru, has organised ‘Music for Wellness’  96th Music Concert on Mar.16 (Saturday) from 6 pm onwards  at Sri Bidaram Krishnappanavara Prasanna Seetharama Mandira Narayana Shastry Road here.

On the occasion, a grand Karnatak vocal concert will be presented by Vid. Aneesh V. Bhat accompanied by Vidu. Pruthvi Bhaskar on violin, Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath  on ghata.

Profile: Aneesh V. Bhat is a well-known name to be reckoned with in the field of Karnatak classical music who originally hails from southern part of Karnataka. He had his initial training in Karnatak vocal and mridanga under the guidance of Vidu. Kanchana A. Ishwara Bhat, Puttur and presently he is continuing advanced level training under the guidance of Vid. Kalaimamani Dr. R. Suryaprakash.

Aneesh Bhat was born Oct.8, 1992 to Venkatesha Bhat, Balekkala and Radha V. Bhat in a small town called Manjeshwar in Kasaragod District of Kerala. He started performing on stage at a tender age of 9 and thereafter presented a number of concerts in and around Karnataka and other neighbouring States. Now, he is undergoing advanced level training in the percussion instrument ‘mridanga’ also.

He has attained “B-High” grade in Karnatak classical vocal music category of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Mangaluru.

He has secured the National-level award “Yuva Kala Mani” from Mani Krishnaswamy Academy in the year 2019 for excellence in Karnatak vocal music.

He has secured “Raga Dhana Pallavi Prashasti” from Raagadhana, Udupi in the year 2019 for excellence in Pallavi singing; “Shri Sharada Yuva Puraskar” for excellence in Karnatak music from Shri Sharada Sangeetha Sabha, Shringeri in 2023; ‘TR Krishnan Memorial young talent award’ from Sangeetha Parishath, Mangaluru in 2009.

Aneesh V. Bhat has secured Fellowship from Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy, for the year 2010-2011 in the   category of Karnatak classical vocal music.

He has performed in almost all prestigious sabhas like Malleshwaram Sangeetha Sabha, Bengaluru Gayana Samaja, JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru,  Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, Sangeetha Parishath, Mangaluru, Mani Krishnaswami Academy, Mangaluru, Ganabharathi, Mysuru and a number of other reputed sabhas in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
