Bengaluru: Several Kannada organisations have called for Karnataka bandh on Dec.5, protesting against State Government’s decision to constitute Maratha Development Authority.
This was decided at a meeting held here under the Chairmanship of former MLA and Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj this morning.
The pro-Kannada organisations have requested the support of one and all to make Karnataka bandh a grand success.
Vatal Nagaraj said autorickshaw and taxis will stay off the roads. A massive rally will be taken out from the Town Hall to Freedom Park in the heart of Bengaluru city.
Appealing all people of the State to wholeheartedly support the bandh, Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj said that it is the responsibility of every Kannadiga to condemn the State Government’s decision to form Maratha Development Authority. Urging the Government to immediately scrap the Authority, Vatal Nagaraj warned of more protests if the Government failed to do so. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Karnataka Hotel Owners Association and Taxi Operators Association have expressed moral support to the bandh.
