‘Karnataka Ratna’ title conferred on theatre artiste

Drama Director P. Lokesh, who was conferred with ‘Karnataka Ratna’ title by MLA G.T. Devegowda during a programme at Kalamandira recently, is seen with (from left) S. Mysuru: Sri Rama Krupa Poshita Nataka Mandali, Koorgalli, Mysuru, staged the mythological play ‘Kurukshetra’ at Kalamandira in city recently.

Following the play, P. Lokesh, play Director from Koorgalli, was conferred with the title ‘Karnataka Ratna’ by MLA G.T. Devegowda.

Papachar Lokesh (P. Lokesh) is a young drama director known for directing the dramas since many decades. He has directed more than 35 dramas including Tripura Samhara, Kurukshetra, Daksha Yajna, Danashoora Karna, Shivakumara, Denakasura Vadhe, Thrijanma Moksha, Rakta Ratri etc. He is also a good singer and harmonium player.  In 2002, he was conferred ‘Kala Tilaka’ title by Chandra Mouleshwara Kalavrinda, Mysuru.
