Karnataka Sena Pade protests scams in MUDA

July 4, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging large-scale irregularities in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), activists of Karnataka Sena Pade staged a protest on Sunday, demanding action against those responsible.

The protestors assembled in front of the MUDA office on JLB Road, claiming that approximately 4,000 to 5,000 sites have been illegally distributed by MUDA, resulting in an unprecedented land-grabbing scam.

The protestors highlighted that alternative sites have been illegally allotted despite a government order prohibiting the allotment of alternative sites except under exceptional circumstances and with government permission. They estimated the total amount involved in the scam to be around Rs. 3,000 crore, stating that the State exchequer has lost thousands of crores due to this scam.

The protestors accused MUDA Chairman of distributing valuable sites in high-end localities of Mysuru as alternative sites to those who have sites in distant villages, allegedly destroying many files in the MUDA office to cover up the irregularities. They noted that 146 files related to various sites were found at his residence, raising suspicions about his involvement.

The activists compared this scam to the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation scam, suggesting that some influential persons in the State Government might be involved in this organised scam. They demanded that the State Government conduct an impartial and transparent probe into the alleged irregularities.

District President of Karnataka Sena Pade, Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, along with M.B. Prabhushankar, Krishnappa, Kumargowda, Shivalingaiah, Amba Urs, Neha, and others participated in the protest.
