Mysuru lad S. Abhay, a mentally-retarded athlete, representing Mysuru district in the Karnataka State-level Para State Games-2018 held at Dharwad recently, won three bronze medals (100m, Shot-Put and Discus-Throw events) in the mentally-retarded category for boys.
He is a 8th standard student at Princely State Montessori School, Siddarthanagar, Mysuru. He is being coached by SAK coach M.S. Gopinath at Chamundi Vihar Stadium for the last four years.
In Shot-Put, he threw a distance of 7.00m (4ks ball), in Discus, he threw a distance of 10mtrs and in 100m event, he had a timing of 18.00s.
He is the son of S.J. Somashekar and R.N. Kavitha, residents of Siddarthanagar here.
