Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Championship: Nikhil, Tushar, Trisha, Tanya, Neysa bag double

Top-seed Nikhil Shyam Sriram (Boys U-19 singles & doubles), second-seed Tushar Suveer (Boys U-13 singles & doubles), second-seed Trisha Hegde (Girls U-17 singles & doubles), Second seed Tanya Hemanth (Girls U-15 singles & doubles), top-seed Neysa Cariappa (Girls U-13 singles & doubles) bagged a grand double each on the concluding day of the State Ranking Badminton Championship for Sub-junior & Junior (boys & girls) conducted by the  MDBA under the aegis of the KBA at the Manasagangothri Indoor Stadium here yesterday.

Tanya Hemanth the second-seed in the girls U-15 section scored an upset win over top-seed Kirti Bharadwaj 21-12, 22-20 to bag the title. In the Boys U-13 singles, second-seed Tushar Suveer shocked the top-seed G.S. Sumukh 21-13, 13-21, 21-19 and clinched the title.

The prizes to the winners were given away by Vijay Bharadwaj, Former India cricketer during the valedictory function. Also present were MLA Vasu, Hanuman Prasad, MRC Chairman, P.R. Mohan Lal, Hon. Secretary, KBA, Lakshme Gowda, Hon.Treasurer, KBA, Rajashekar Koti, President, MDBA and S.G. Prabhu, Hon. Secretary, MDBA & Vice-President, KBA.
