Karnataka State U-13 Girls Chess Championships: Six players in joint lead including city’s Prasiddhi Bhat, Hemadri Sathish

Ananya Arumbakkam, Bhagyashree Patil (both of Bengaluru), Prasiddhi Bhat, Hemadri Sathish (both from Mysuru), Swara Lakshmi S. Nair (Bengaluru) and Spandana M. Raikar (Shivamogga) — are tied with 3 points from 3 rounds on the opening day of Karnataka State U-13 girls chess championships conducted by Nalanda Chess Academy here on Thursday.

Mandya’s A.N. Shifali (2.5 points – 9th place), Mysuru’s Sharadhi Shastry (2.5 points – 12th place), Dhatri Umesh (2 pts – 32nd place), M. Dhrithi (2 pts – 34th place), Vindya Sridhar (2 points – 41st place), V. Deeksha (1.5 point – 44th place), Diya Umesh (1 point – 52nd place), K.R. Sara (1 point – 58th place) and K. Deeksha (1 point – 62nd place) fared well.

In the U-13 Open chess championship, 17 players are tied with 3 points each from 3 rounds. Gupta Anshrup, Arhan Chethan Anand, K. Manvith, Apoorva Kamble and Anirudh Sharma have secured 3 points from three rounds and are placed from one to five in the rankings.

Mandya’s Tanav Sudharshan (2.5 points – 19th place), Mysuru’s M.G. Prameeth (2.5 points – 27th place), S. Vishwajith (2 points – 58th place), U. Mithil Bhandary (2 points – 73rd place), N.C. Gambhir (1.5 points – 87th place), M.S. Sujith (1.5 points – 88th place), P. Karthik (1.5 points -100th place), B. Nimish Raj (1 points – 104th place), P. Ishanth (1 point – 114th place) and S.G. Nesar (1 point – 123rd place) too excelled.
