Mysore/Mysuru: “Nadaprabhu Kempegowda’s statue will be unveiled at Mudhaiahnahundi Circle at Gollanabidu, G.B. Saragur village in H.D. Kote taluk on July 19,” said Village Leader and Film Director Siddegowda. Disclosing this at a press meet held at Pathrakartara Bhavan here on Saturday, Siddegowda said that the 9 ft. tall Kempegowda statue was built at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh contributed jointly by Muddhaiahnahundi villagers, Sri Chamundeshwari Gaare Kelasagarara Sangha and Sri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple Committee.
Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar will unveil the statue at 11.30 am on July 19. Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji and Mysuru Shaka Mutt Seer Sri Somanatheshwara Swamiji will grace the occasion. District Minister S.T. Somashekar, former Minister S.R. Mahesh, MLAs G.T. Devegowda and Anil Chikkamadu, MPs V. Sreenivasa Prasad and Pratap Simha, Taluk Panchayat former President Dalapathi Krishnegowda, G.B. Saragur Gram Panchayat Members Shivaraju, Ramegowda, Rajesh and other villagers will be present, he said.
Kunnegowda Golanabidu, Gram Panchayat Members Venkatesh, Kendaganna, Tarakari Siddegowda, Papanna and others were present at the press meet.
