Kerala Tourism showcased in city

Mysuru: To promote tourism and create awareness among people of city on various tourist spots in Kerala, the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, had organised a press meet at J.P. Fortune Palace in Nazarbad here this morning.

Briefing the press persons, Kerala Tourism Information Officer Shine said that similar programmes have been held at Coimbatore, Amritsar, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bhopal, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Nagpur and other places. He added that the opening of a new airport at Kannur would provide easy access for tourists from Karnataka.

He further said that other than an exposure to traditional dances of Kerala, the State also has ample facilities for trekking, paragliding, river rafting and other adventure sports. He added that enough publicity has been made through TV and social media to attract foreign tourists.

Kathakali School of Society gave a demo of the traditional arts of Kerala — Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Mayurinruthyam, Theyam and Kalari. A documentary of all the tourist spots in Kerala was also screened on the occasion.
