Khadi Board invites entries for self-employment

Mysuru: Under the Chief Minister’s self-employment generation scheme, the Khadi and Village Industries Board, having office at 1st Floor, CTI building, Sayyaji Rao Road, Mysuru, has invited online applications from eligible candidates for taking up industrial and service activities in rural areas.

The applicants must be from rural areas or from towns having a population of less than 20,000 as per the 2001 census.

Also, the candidates must be in the age group of 18 to 35 years (upper age limit relaxable by 10 years in case of women, SC/ST, OBC, minorities, ex-servicemen, specially-abled) and must have passed 8th standard.

However there is no income ceiling. A 25 percent subsidy, subject to a maximum of Rs. 2,50,000 for candidates from general category and a maximum of Rs. 3,50,000 for specially-abled candidates, will be provided. The interested youths who are willing to be entrepreneurs, can submit applications online to ‘Agency-KVIB’, through the website www.cmegp.kar.nic.in by June 30.
