Mysuru: Three kho kho players from Mysuru represented Karnataka team at the 44th Sub Junior National Kho Kho Championship (Boys and Girls) organised by the Kho Kho Federation of India at Surat in Gujarat recently.
The students who took part in the championship are J. Nithesh, R. Shivaraj and Dakshashree, all students of Annayappa Bhyraveshwara School located at Basavanagudi in city. Nithesh was the captain of Karnataka team which emerged as champions defeating Tamil Nadu in the finals.
Meanwhile, Dakshashree represented Karnataka Sub Junior Girls team which won the bronze medal in the championship.
J. Nithesh, a 9th std student, is the son of Jagadish and Amulya couple residing at Bhyraveshwaranagar. He has also taken part in many Zonal, Inter-Zonal, District, Divisional and State-level championship. Earlier, he had won the best all-rounder award in the State-level championship.
R. Shivaraj, also a 9th std student, is the son of Raghu and Saraswathi couple, residents of Bhyraveshwaranagar. Having taken part in many tournaments from Zonal-level to State-level, Shivaraj was declared as the best dodger in State-level tournament.
Dakshashree, a student of 9th std, is the daughter of R. Madesh and Nagamani couple, also residing in Bhyraveshwaranagar. She has taken part in many kho kho championships held at Zonal-level and National-level. All three students were felicitated by the school management in recognition of their achievements.
