Mysuru: About 500 people were screened for kidney-related diseases during the free kidney screening camp held at Sigma Hospital in city on Sunday.
The camp was inaugurated by the member of the erstwhile Mysore royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and MLA K. Harishgowda in the presence of President of Vishwa Shanthi Samsthe Dr. Murthy, who was present as special invitee.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Sigma Hospital and Chief Urologist Dr. K.M. Madappa said the most updated treatment including kidney transplantation was available at the Hospital’s Department of Nephro Urology.
Nephrologist Dr. Aniketh Prabhakar spoke about transplant programme. On the occasion, Pramoda Devi felicitated kidney donors and recipients in the past year. MLA Harishgowda conveyed his best wishes.
Managing Director of Sigma Hospital S. Gnanashankar, welcomed. Director of Sigma Hospital and Chief Paediatrician Dr. Rajeshwari Madappa, other doctors and staff were present.
