Kiriyamada Bimani Belliappa (74), retired Director of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Bengaluru and a resident of Hudikeri (Ponnampet) in Kodagu, passed away at a private hospital in Mysuru this morning.

An athletic coach, who had produced several outstanding sports personalities including Olympians Arjun Devaiah and Pramila Aiyappa, many of them who are Ekalavya awardees, he was a bachelor and leaves behind family members and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed in Mysuru this morning.
