Kodandera Dr. Medappa (Ravi), a resident of Luckunda Estate, Kutta, Ponnampet taluk, Kodagu, passed away on Mar. 18. He was 89.

A student of Sri Ramakrishna Students’ Home last batch at Bengaluru, Dr. Medappa was a doctoral student of Nobel Laureate Dr. Hargobind Khorana (University of Wisconsin) in 1968, when Dr. Khorana won the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine.

He leaves behind his wife Jyothi Medappa (Palecanda) and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at his Luckunda Estate in Kutta on Mar. 19.
