Kodava Heritage Centre Govt. permission needed for M. C. Nanaiah’s suggestion

Sir,

The suggestion given by former Minister M.C. Nanaiah that the funds granted by the Government for Kodava Heritage Centre works in Madikeri be given to the Federation of Kodava Samajas in Balugodu, Virajpet taluk and that the works on the Heritage Centre be monitored by Madikeri Kodava Samaja, is most welcome (SOM dated Nov. 26).

But it has to be noted here that mere statement on the issue would be of no help and some procedures have to be followed in this regard. Accordingly, the Federation of Kodava Samajas must write to the Government (through the Kodagu DC) seeking transfer of funds to it for executing works. Likewise, the Madikeri Kodava Samaja too should write to the Government (through the DC) stating that it is ready to monitor the works and that the Government should give nod for the same.

It is pertinent to note that several projects in Kodagu are in limbo while some others have become a non-starter for not following Government procedure and lack of foresight.
