Kombu Dasaiah (85), who played ‘Kombu’ during Suttur Sri Shivarathreeshwara Jatra every year, passed away at Suttur in Nanjangud taluk yesterday. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives, friends and family members.
Dasaiah, who was popularly known as Kombu Dasaiah for playing Kombu at all religious programmes, functions etc., in the district, was a well-known figure in Suttur and surrounding areas. He also used to train youths in playing the Kombu Kahale.
Last rites were performed at his native place yesterday.
