KPCC Chief D.K. Shivakumar’s father-in-law no more

Mysore/Mysuru:  R. Thimmaiah (Papanna), father-in-law of KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar and a resident of Ittigegud in Mysuru, passed away yesterday afternoon at a private hospital in Bengaluru following brief illness. He was 84.

He leaves behind his wife Lakshmi, son Sathyanarayan, daughters Anitha Shashikumar, Usha Shivakumar and Suma Ranganath, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

The body of Thimmaiah was brought to city at 10.30 last night and was kept at his house for people to pay their last respects till about 11.30 am today.

Last rites were performed in his farm land at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to family sources.

A large number of people including D.K. Shivakumar, former MLC D. Madegowda, Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda, Vikrant P. Devegowda of S.M. Krishna Abhimanigala Balaga and others paid their last respects to the departed soul.
