Senior Congress leader and former MP A.H. Vishwanath has expressed his disappointment over the notice issued by KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwara for anti-party activities. Addressing press persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan, Vishwanath said that he had written 3-page reply to the notice. In his reply, the former MP has mentioned that he had received the notice only on Mar. 3 though it was dated on Feb. 15.
“I have been working as one of the sincere soldiers of the party for the past 4 decades and I have worked with utmost dedication as an MLA, Minister and MP and at other offices provided by the party. I am still continuing in the party respecting Congress party’s ideologies and party’s pro-poor attitude,” he added.
Vishwanath has also clarified that he had never gone against the party and had not spoken against AICC President Sonia Gandhi or Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and mentioned that leaders like C.K. Jaffer Sharief, Janardhan Poojari and himself had been humiliated by serving notices on charges of being involved in anti-party activities.
Taking a jibe at the KPCC President, Vishwanath has mentioned that it was only AICC which had the power to issue notice to him and KPCC had no powers to do so. Vishwanath also added that Ministers Ramesh Kumar and Kagodu Thimmappa and K.B. Koliwad, who is now the Speaker, had earlier spoken against the Siddharamaiah-led State Government when they were not a part of the Government.
“Now, with them being a part of the Government, we (Vishwanath, Jaffer Sharief and Kagodu Thimmappa) were being treated as villains,” he added.
