Mysore/Mysuru: University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot (UHSB), established in 2008, has been involved in Teaching, Research and Extension activities catering to the needs of farmers in the field of horticulture.
College of Horticulture (COH), Mysuru, was started in 2010 as a constituent college situated in Yalachanahalli, Yelwal, under UHSB with its full-fledged facilities of Teaching, Research and Extension. To encourage co-curricular activities complementing academics of University, COH is hosting the 13th Inter-Collegiate Games Meet-2022 ‘Kreeda Sambhrama’ on Jan. 23 and 24 at its playground in Yelwal.
A total of 396 students from 9 constituent colleges of UHS are participating in this Meet and 600 members of horticultural fraternity will witness the programme. There are 4 categories of competitions in Games Meet — Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Basketball. Best talented/performing students will be selected for National level representing University from Karnataka.
Games Meet will be inaugurated by MLA G.T. Devegowda on Jan. 23 at 10 am. UHSB VC Dr. K.M. Indiresh will preside.
Horticulture (Mysuru Division) Joint Director Dr. H.M. Nagaraju, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (Mysuru) Asst. Director Rohith Gangadhar and University of Mysore Physical Education Department Professor Dr. C. Venkatesh will be the chief guests.
Valedictory ceremony will be held on Jan. 24 at 5 pm. DC Dr. K.V. Rajendra, UHSB Director of Research Dr. H.P. Maheshwarappa and Horticulture Deputy Director (Mysuru) K. Rudresh will be the chief guests. COH (Mysuru) Dean Dr. Vishnuvardhana will preside.
