KRRS wants scrapping of Disneyland

Mysuru:  Urging the Government to scrap Disneyland-like project at KRS, the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) has sought a complete ban on all types of mining activities around   KRS dam.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, KRRS General Secretary Badagalapura Nagendra said that the Government should pass a New Year resolution on scrapping the Disneyland project at KRS which he said poses a threat to the dam besides wholly altering the landscape.

Hitting out at the Centre for coming up with plans now to address farmer distress, Nagendra claimed that the Centre’s announcement that it would pay the premium of Fasal Bima Yojana and also waive off interest on farm loans in Public Sector Banks is only an eyewash.

Maintaining that the Centre’s new plan would only help corporates which run Insurance Companies, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come up with long-term solutions for the agrarian crisis that the country is undergoing.

Lashing out at Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for making a promise in the name of his (CM) son on waiving off farm loans, Nagendra observed that the CM should not make statements that belittle his stature.
