KRS water level rises by 2 feet

With the release of water from Hemavathi and Harangi reservoirs, the water level in KRS has risen by 2 feet. The water level in KRS dam which stood at 78.60 ft (maximum level 124.80 ft) on Saturday, touched 80.30 ft on Monday. The water level is expected to rise by one-and-half feet by today, as the inflow into the dam has increased.

The inflow to KRS dam was recorded at 8,846 cusecs on Monday and 262 cusecs of water was released from the dam for drinking water requirements.

Last year, the water level at this point of time stood at 93.36 ft, with inflow of 294 cusecs and outflow of 584 cusecs. With the release of water from Harangi and Hemavathi reservoirs since the past couple of days, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam officials have expressed the hope that there will be no drinking water problems till the end of May.
