Raichur Zone gained the vital first innings lead of 50-runs in the two-day drawn KSCA Inter-Zonal U-16 Tournament 2019 against Mysuru Zone at Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) Grounds here yesterday.

Batting first, Raichur Zone were bowled out for 179 in 70.1 overs and in reply, Mysuru Zone 23 for two overnight, were bowled out for 129 in 69.1 overs by Riachur Zone bowlers.

M.K. Yashwanth (23) and C.S. Aryan Kaverappa (22) were the only contributors for Mysuru Zone. Naveen Kumar Yadav took three for 11 for Raichur.

In their second innings, Raichur Zone scored 172 for no loss in 41 overs with opener and skipper Shashank Reddy remaining not out on a well-compiled century (101 n.o., 140b, 12×4). B. Vijay Raj remained not out on 62 (106b,7×4). Raichur Zone secured three points for the drawn encounter, while Mysuru Zone secured one point.
