KSCA South Zone for U-14: Innings win for Karnataka

Karnataka registered an innings and 62-run win over Kerala in two-day KSCA South Zone tournament for U-14 2019-20 played at the Alur (3) Grounds on Thursday.

Batting first, Kerala were bowled out for 57 in their first innings. Ahamed Imran (22) was the lone scorer. Medium-pacer Rahul Bellad impressed with figures of 6/22 for Karnataka.

In reply, Karnataka with some good batting by M.B. Shivam (92,61b, 19x4s) and Samit Dravid (75 n.o, 12x4s) scored 227/4 decl. in 40 overs. The opening wicket of Shivam and Mysuru lad M.Kanish (13, 30b, 2×4) added 108-runs and gave their team a good start. The innings was further consolidated by Samit Dravid and Ravi Kiran Reddy (28). In their second innings, Kerala were bowled out for 108 in 54.2 overs. Abin J. Lal (22), Jobin P. Joby (33), Ahmed Imran (25) were the scorers. Hardik Raj (3/35), skipper K.P. Karthikeya (2/13) and J. Sridhar (2/28) were among the wickets for Karnataka.

Scores: Kerala 57 in 29 overs (Ahamed Imran 22, Rahul 6/22,Rohan 2/5) & 108 in 54.2 overs (Jobin 33, Ahmed 25, Abin J. Lal 22, Hardik Raj 3/35, Karthikeya 2/13, Sridhar 2/28) lost to Karnataka 227/4 in 40 overs decl. (Shivam 92, Samit Dravid 75 n.o, Ravi Kiran 28, S.Navaneeth 2/58, Ahmed 2/59).
