KSCA to support education of its ground staff’s children

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) announced new initiatives to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, here on the sidelines of the ongoing Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Cricket Tournament yesterday at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium.

Following the customary Flag hoisting ceremony, former India cricketer and KSCA President Roger Binny announced two important initiatives. “We have seen the efforts made by ground staff who are instrumental in the success of any tournament as they ensure the best playing conditions. In recognition to their efforts, KSCA has decided to come up with a welfare measure to support the education of the ground staff’s children. Additionally, on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day, KSCA has taken a decision to provide scholarship to 8 talented cricketers from the state who belong from a low-income group,” stated the legendary cricketer.

Also present were KSCA Treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya and the captains of the six teams of the Maharaja Trophy — Manish Pandey (Gulbarga Mystics), Mayank Agarwal (Bengaluru Blasters), Karun Nair (Mysuru Warriors), K. Gowtham (Shivamogga Strikers), R. Samarth (Mangalore United) and Navneet Sisodia (Hubli Tigers).

Secretary Santosh Menon made similar announcement while hoisting the Flag at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
