KSOU de-recognition: Bengaluru girl ends life

Bengaluru: A Bengaluru girl has ended her life following de-recognition of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) courses by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Sanjana, a resident of Vijayanagar’s Gangadar Layout, Bengaluru, who was doing Animation Course in KSOU, is the unfortunate girl who committed suicide. As she had failed in second PUC, she had joined the Animation course.

Since the UGC had de-recognised KSOU, her course was also not recognised. Hence, she had gone into a depression.

She was always feeling that she was an illiterate and her parents were getting her treated for depression. However, as she was unable to come to terms with her problems, she ended her life on Nov.15. The incident came to light late.

The future of lakhs of students is in jeopardy as KSOU was running several courses violating UGC rules. It may be recalled that just four days ago, a Paramedical student of KSOU also ended his life following the de-recognition of the course.
