Mysuru: Jayalakshmipuram Police, who have intensified investigation into the KSOU fake marks card scam, arrested one more person on Friday in connection with the scam.
The arrested has been identified as Altaf, a Police constable attached to District Crime Bureau (DCB), Dharwad.
Altaf was said to be in touch with two other accused in the scam — Avinash of Hole Alur in Dharwad district and Shivanna, a temporary employee of KSOU who was suspended after the scam broke out.
Altaf used to get the KSOU marks card format from Avinash and Shivanna. He used to fill the marks card as per his wish and put fake seal and signatures and then sell it to marks card seekers for a huge sum, it is learnt. The Police have recovered 106 fake marks cards, 76 of them filled and 30 empty from him. Altaf was produced before a Magistrate on Sunday, who remanded him to judicial custody.
Jayalakshmipuram Puram Police Inspector C.M. Ravindra and staff arrested him.
Two more granted bail: Meanwhile, the Third JMFC Court here on Saturday granted bail to two more accused in connection with the KSOU fake marks card scam. Sanjay of Bengaluru and Yousuf Mohammed of Raichur are the accused who were granted bail by the Court. With this, the number of accused who have been let out on bail has gone upto ten, while one of the accused is in Judicial custody, it is learnt.
