KSOU Regional Centre planned in Kalaburagi: VC Halse

Mysore/Mysuru: Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse has said that the Varsity has plans to start 51 new courses in addition to 64 available courses. The new courses include Data Science, Bio-informatics, Earth Science, Computer Applications and Cyber Security to name a few.

Vice-Chancellor Halse told media persons at his Office in city recently that the new courses are planned to be introduced in the coming days to cater to the demand of the students, the enrolment of whom are also on the rise.

It is also targeted to enrol more than two lakh students by introducing online courses and strengthening the learning management system.

Following the relentless efforts, Karnataka State Open University has succeeded in getting one acre land from Gulbarga University (GU) in Kalaburagi, to establish a Regional Centre there, the VC said and added that  similar efforts are being made to get a Civic Amenities (CA) site from Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) too.
