Mysore/Mysuru: The officials of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), who raided an illegal dyeing unit yesterday, have sealed the unit and three workers have been handed over to Police custody. Following a tip off that an illegal dyeing unit was functioning at the godown on Ring Road near Alanahalli Police Station, KSPBC officials raided the unit during which owner of the dyeing unit is said to have fled from the spot. According to Environmental Officer Prakash, one John Kennedy had taken the place, where a rice mill was functioning earlier on lease and was running the illegal dyeing unit.
Senior Environmental Officer Niranjan, Deputy Environmental Officer Ramesh and staff took part in the raid. Based on the complaint from KSPBC officials, Alanahalli Police have registered a case against John Kennedy and others.
