Mysore/Mysuru: With the Karnataka High Court this morning restraining Transport Unions from going on an indefinite strike from tomorrow (May 20) seeking fulfilment of their various demands, KSRTC buses will operate as per routine schedule in the city and rural routes in the district.
The HC ruling comes as a huge relief for lakhs of bus commuters. The HC ruling comes as a double shock for Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Transport Unions- First, as the Court restrained it from going ahead with its strike plans and Second, as a few Transport Unions opted out of the strike at the last minute citing disapproval.
Speaking to Star of Mysore this noon after the HC ruling, Transport Union leader of Mysuru Vishwanath said that the strike has been called off and KSRTC buses will operate on as usual.
He pointed out that all staff and workers who had either planned to go on leave or absent themselves from duty for participating in the strike that was scheduled, will now report to work as usual tomorrow.
