KSRTC might stop subsidised student pass

With State Transport Corporations suffering huge losses due to COVID-19 lockdown, they have sent a proposal to the Government seeking Rs.1015.85 crore for payment of salaries for the period from June to November. The Government has released Rs.423 crore for payment of salary for August and September, while also issuing certain conditions which include stoppage of Government funding for school bus passes. With these conditions, the KSRTC is likely to stop issuing subsidised or free bus passes to students.
