KSRTC Union accuses management of violation of laws

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing KSRTC management of violation of laws, the KSRTC Staff and Workers Union President H.V. Anantha Subbarao has urged the Government for timely payment of wages and sanction of funds to the State-run Corporation. He was addressing the joint session of the Union’s Mysuru City, Mysuru Rural, Mandya and Chamarajanagar Divisions at a private hotel in Bannimantap here yesterday.

Alleging that KSRTC management was violating laws in respect of PF, payment of wages, duration of work and such other issues, he said that the Union has no option other than moving Courts if their demands are not met by the management.

Charging that the gratuity of each of about one lakh employees has been cut short by Rs.5 lakh, he accused the managements of the four State Corporations (KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC) of misappropriation of huge amounts of money.

Subbarao further said that there were 11 lakh workers serving in Road Transport Corporations across the country and the Union Government has not introduced any programmes for their welfare.

Joint Secretary T.L. Rajagopal said the Union was committed to protect the interests of employees and as such more workers were joining the Union. Vice-President M. Vijaykumar, Legal Advisor B.S. Suresh, City President S. Revanna, General Secretary S. Madhusudan and others were present on the occasion.
