Kudos to Dhruvakumar: A pro-active, effective MUDA Chairman

Sir,

It takes application of common sense to be a successful politician. More so to be a good and people-friendly one. I saw this kind of a politician in D. Dhruvakumar of Mysuru.

It has been a few months since he became the Chairman of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). In this brief tenure, I, as a common man,  appreciate his efforts which have borne results.

Firstly, his decision to remove a board in MUDA, which said public allowed only after 3.30 pm. This was causing a lot of irritation to public earlier. I have seen senior citizens begging the security guards to enter. Now they can walk in with dignity during office hours. This is just application of common sense. People from out of city cannot wait till afternoon to attend to their works in MUDA. Now they can at ease.

Secondly, his effort in getting the problem of R.T. Nagar Layout solved by holding talks between MUDA and the land-losers. At last, there is a ray of hope for site aspirants.

Third, the recent feather in his cap is the sigh of relief on the face of Vijayashreepura residents. The tussle between the Royal Family descendent Chaduranga Kantharaj Urs and MUDA and how Dhruvakumar solved it. All this in a couple of months. These are noteworthy achievements; there may be other issues too which he must have solved but not come to the public eye. The earlier MUDA Chairmen were only blaming the government or the litigants or the other Government Departments for not solving these problems.

He might have achieved all this because of his long-term guide, mentor, leader and now the Chief Minister but how many have used their office effectively. This is what makes Dhruvakumar outstanding.

May his efforts continue. He has other tasks before him like relief for genuine land owners in Kurubarahalli Survey No.4 and other lands; development of new Layouts; hastening process of project approvals, newly-conceived group housing project, good maintenance of MUDA Layouts, supply of Cauvery and Kabini water to new Layouts, handing over of Layouts to            Corporation and so on.

Let’s hope this star called ‘Dhruva’ shines brighter.
