Kumaraswamy admits groupism in JD(S)

Mysuru: Admitting that there was groupism in his party too, State JD(S) President and former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy has said that all issues regarding party organisation will be addressed soon.

Speaking to press persons after the booth level meeting of party workers at Sa. Ra. Convention Hall in Dattagalli here yesterday, Kumaraswamy said, as of now, there was no proposal of senior Congress leader A.H.  Vishwanath’s entry to the party. When this is the scenario, he could not understand why one faction in the party was persisting on giving ticket to G.T. Devegowda’s family and the other faction projecting the name of Prajwal Revanna.

Pointing out that factionalism in the party has resulted in some confusions, Kumaraswamy maintained that there was a lot of demand for the party ticket for 2018 Assembly Polls.

Clarifying that the party tickets will be distributed only after consulting all workers in the respective constituency, Kumaraswamy said that he has appealed JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda to allot the party ticket in constituencies where there are no problems and confusions.

Referring to reports on H.D. Deve Gowda’s family members contesting the elections, Kumaraswamy clarified that only he and his brother H.D.  Revanna will contest the 2018 Assembly polls.

Even JD(S) supreme H.D. Deve Gowda has already clarified this in the past, he said and added that H.D. Revanna too has said that his (Revanna) son will not be contesting.
