Kumaraswamy visits Nanjangud Temple

Nanjangud: State JD(S) President and former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy visited the Srikanteshwara Temple in the town this morning.

Kumaraswamy, who arrived at the temple at around 10 am, performed special puja to the deity, marking Buddha Purnima.

Later speaking to press persons, Kumaraswamy said that he had prayed Lord Srikanteshwara for the success of party organisation in the State.

Stating that the booth-level meetings will commence at Mysuru from today, the former CM said that he had also prayed the deity for copious rains and thus save the farming community, which is distressed by severe drought.

When asked about senior Congress leader A.H. Vishwanath’s probable entry to the JD(S), Kumaraswamy admitted to have held meetings with the veteran Congress leader over the past few days. “Just wait for a couple of days and you will come to know,” he remarked.

Mysuru Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, JD(S) District President Narasimhamurthy, Taluk President Mahadevaswamy, leader Belavadi Shivakumar and others were present.

Kumaraswamy later left for Chamundi Hill to offer special puja to Goddess Chamundeshwari.
