Kurimandi youth murder case: NR Police arrest two; launch hunt to nab prime accused

Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police, yesterday, have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a youth at JnNURM building complex at Kurimandi in Kesare ‘A’ Block.

While the murdered youth is Ravi alias Baccha (27), the arrested are 20-year-old Nikhil alias Maada and 18-year-old M. Appu, both residents of Kurimandi and friends of the deceased. The Police, after taking custody of the two accused on Dec. 18, subjected them to interrogation and formally arrested them on Dec. 22. 

The Police have now launched a hunt to nab the prime accused identified as Vinay alias Parota, who is absconding.

Details: According to the Police, the arrested, who have confessed of murdering Ravi, have stated that there were frequent quarrels between Ravi and prime accused Vinay over financial issues and on Dec. 13, Ravi, who had consumed liquor had created ruckus in front of Vinay’s house, which resulted in Vinay’s house owner demanding Vinay to vacate the house. 

Irked over this, Vinay, along with Nikhil and Appu, hatched a plot to eliminate Ravi. On Dec. 14 night, Vinay, Nikhil and Appu went to the house of Ravi in the guise of partying where they consumed liquor and later strangulated Ravi with a towel and killed him, the accused is said to have confessed during interrogation.

NR Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar supervised NR Inspector Azaruddin and staff Manju and Manjunath in the nabbing operation.
