Kurubarahalli Sy. No. 4 and Alanahalli Sy. No. 41: Scrutiny panel to submit report within a month

Mysuru: The Committee constituted by the Revenue Department to look into the Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41, chaired by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, met here yesterday and took some important decisions.

“The scope of the Committee is to examine excluding MUDA approved layouts in Kurubarahalli Sy. No. 4 and Alanahalli Sy.No 41 from ‘B Kharab’ status,” said a release from the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The main purpose of the Committee is to confirm about the ‘B Kharab’ status. If it found that, it comes under ‘B Kharab’ then to find out whether there is any legal hurdles to drop it from the ‘B Kharab’ status. Also, to find out whether there is any problems posed by the private land owners. Then to see whether dropping it from ‘B Kharab’ status is against the Court order.

The Legal Advisor, Deputy Commissioner and Tahsildar should scrutinise the 41 writ petitions in the DC Office study about it and in the next meeting provide information petition wise.

The DC has informed that since the Committee has to send the report to the government within a month, the next meeting will be held within the next 10 days.

It may be recalled that the then Deputy Commissioner had issued an order declaring the lands in Kurburahalli Sy. No. 4 and Alanahalli Sy. No. 41 as ‘B’ Kharab land on June 26, 2015.

In Kurubarahalli Sy. No. 4, MUDA has developed sites on 710.17 acres out of 1,543 acres. Likewise, out of 175 acres, 74 acres were developed as sites in Alanahalli Sy. No. 41.

The lands had been purchased by over 25,000 people from MUDA (then City Improvement Trust Board) in 1970. However, they are yet to get land records, in spite of them being legal owners of the land. Hence, everything has come to a standstill as they are neither able to sell their houses nor build extra floors for the past three years. A few residents and owners of lands had approached the Court, questioning the order.

Dr. M. Mahesh, Commissioner, MUDA, Yogesh, ADC, Shivegowda, Assistant Commissioner in the office of the Regional Commissioner, Ismail, Additional Secretary, Department of Law, T. Ramesh Babu, Tahsildar, Legal Advisor, DC Office, Director, Revenue Villages Formation Cell, Deputy Secretary, Revenue Department (Land Allotment) and Consultant, Revenue Department, were present at the meeting.
