Kushala wins ‘Checkmate – 2019’

Rotary Midtown Academy had organised one-day inter-school chess tournament, here yesterday.

The tournament was inaugurated by Chess Master Upendra Krishna Rao along with city’s well known chess player Vijendra. Rotary Midtown Academy Chairman Rtn. Alagappan presided. Headmistress Ramya Urs and other members of the staff were present.

During the valedictory, the winners were awarded with certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 1,500, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 for first, second and third place winners respectively. Below is the list of winners: I Place: S.D. Kushala (Hari Vidyalaya, Mysuru), II Place: S. Prajwal (Hari Vidyalaya, Mysuru) and III Place: L.S. Nandini (Ideal Jawa Rotary School,Mysuru).
